Village Annual Meeting April 13, 2026
The 2026 Village Annual Meeting will be held Monday, April 13, 2026 at Main Street Arts. There will be a potluck supper at 5:30 PM, followed by the annual meeting at 7:00 PM. We replace three Trustees and the Village Clerk who are retiring this year, so there are great opportunities for residents to serve in Village government!

VILLAGE ANNUAL MEETING
THE LEGAL VOTERS OF SAXTONS RIVER VILLAGE ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED AND WARNED TO MEET AT 7:00 PM ON MONDAY, APRIL 13, 2026 AT MAIN STREET ARTS, 35 MAIN STREET, TO TAKE ACTION ON THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES:
ARTICLE 1: To elect a Moderator.
ARTICLE 2: To hear and approve the reports of the Trustees, Treasurer, Auditors, Fire Department, FAST Squad, Tax Collector, Delinquent Tax Collector, ARPA allocations, Waste Water Treatment Plant, Recreation Center, Saxtons River Park Committee, minutes of the 2025 Annual Meeting and Windham County Sheriff.
ARTICLE 3: To elect the following officers, to wit: any open Trustee positions, Treasurer, Tax Collector, Collector of Delinquent Taxes, Village Clerk, and up to Three Auditors.
ARTICLE 4: To see if the voters will vote to assess a tax on the Grand List of the Village for general operating expenses, the indebtedness of the Village and interest for the ensuing year; and if so, how much.
ARTICLE 5: To see if the voters will authorize the Tax Collector and the Collector of Delinquent Taxes to take whatever legal action is necessary for the collection oftaxes.
ARTICLE 6: To see if the voters will authorize the Treasurer, subject to the approval of the Trustees, to borrow money, if necessary, to pay the current operating expenses of the Village prior to the collection of taxes.
ARTICLE 7: Shall the Village sell the parcel of land located between 7 Maple Street and Mill Street, being approximately 118 feet long and 37 feet wide, for a sales price of $10,000.00, subject to restrictive covenants preventing parking, building and removal of the existing stone foundation except to allow repairs if the existing stone foundation becomes structurally unsound or unsafe.
ARTICLE 8: To transact any other business proper to be brought before this meeting.

Saxtons River Village Trustees meet at 7:00 PM on the first and third Mondays of each month in the 24 Main community center. Meetings that fall on a national holiday may be rescheduled, and special meetings are called as needed. Meeting times and locations are published in the meeting agendas.
Trustee meetings are held in hybrid format, both in-person and remotely via Zoom.us. Links to the Zoom.us meetings vary and are published in the agenda for each meeting. All meetings are open to the public.
Official warnings of Village meeting agendas are posted on bulletin boards outside the Fire Station / Community Building and outside the Village Market, 25 Main Street. Meeting agendas and minutes are also posted on this web site and distributed via electronic mail. To join either or both mailing lists, send a request to the Village Clerk at clerksrv@verrmontel.net. Electronic agendas include a live link to the virtual meeting.
