Village Annual Meeting April 13, 2026

Thanks to all the residents who attended the 2026 Village Annual Meetin and enjoyed the pre-meeting potluck!

Results of the Annual Meeting voting:

• Voters approved a 2026-2027 fiscal year budget of $54,289.24 and a tax levy of $51,738.27. The budget is less than last fiscal year because the Town of Rockingham assumed some expenses with the Fire Department consolidation.

• Peter Stickney was elected Moderator

• Ellen Clark-Lawrence (incumbant), Kristen Swartwout (incumbant), Jason Snell, Laura Wolfe and Andrew Dunbar were elected to the Board of Trustees.

• Inessa Muse was reelected to the positions of Village Treasurer and Village Tax Collector.

• Dave Moore was reelected Collector of Delinquent Taxes.

• Peter Bergstom, Meg Lucas and Theresa Spear were reelected Village Auditors

• There were no nominations for Village Clerk

• Voters approved the sale of a parcel of Village land between 7 Maple Street and Mill Street to the 7 Maple Street property owners, for the sum of $10,000.

Saxtons River Village Trustees meet at 7:00 PM on the first and third Mondays of each month in the 24 Main community center.   Meetings that fall on a national holiday may be rescheduled, and special meetings are called as needed.  Meeting times and locations are published in the meeting agendas.

Trustee meetings are held in hybrid format, both in-person and remotely via Zoom.us. Links to the Zoom.us meetings vary and are published in the agenda for each meeting. All meetings are open to the public.

Official warnings of Village meeting agendas are posted on bulletin boards outside the Fire Station / Community Building and outside the Village Market, 25 Main Street.  Meeting agendas and minutes are also posted on this web site and distributed via electronic mail.  To join either or both mailing lists, send a request to the Village Clerk at clerksrv@verrmontel.net.  Electronic agendas include a live link to the virtual meeting. 

Village Trustee meetings are electronically recorded, posted and retained at the Falls Area Community TV website as required  by Vermont Act 133 (S55) of 2024.  The FACT TV archive includes most but not all Village meetings since 2015.
