Bellows Falls Historic District NRHP Nomination Opportunity & RFP Invitation

The Town of Rockingham, Vermont, acting through its Historic Preservation Commission, is seeking proposals from qualified historic preservation consultants for the preparation of a National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Bellows Falls Downtown Historic District. This project will include field survey, documentation, and preparation of a nomination that may involve both a boundary increase and amendment to the existing district.

Proposals are due by Monday, May 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST, with consultant selection anticipated on May 25, 2026 and a project start date of July 1, 2026.

This is a key, community-supported preservation initiative that will help guide future stewardship and recognition of Bellows Falls’ historic resources.

Rockingham Town Hall Plaster Request For Proposal

The Town of Rockingham is seeking bids for plaster repair at the Rockingham Town Hall, built in 1926 and on the National Register of Historic Places. The focus of this work will be to address the significant areas of failure and delamination, bringing plaster back to its original condition while keeping the building open to the public and offices able to be utilized by municipal staff, as much as possible. Qualification Statement: Required with Bid Proposal  as well as Vermont State Historic Preservation Grants Contractor Insurance Requirements

PRE-BID Meeting/ Site Visit (Mandatory): There will be a mandatory pre-bid site visit /meeting on Thursday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at 7 The Square, Bellows Falls, VT 05101 in the 3rd Floor Conference Room.

QUESTIONS: During the advertisement phase of this project all questions shall be submitted in writing by 4:00pm on April 23, 2026, and addressed to:

Flat Iron Bumpout RFP here

The Town of Rockingham, VT is accepting bids for the sidewalk improvement project in front of the Flat Iron Building, 51 The Square, Bellows Falls, VT, and associated work in accordance with the plans prepared by SVE Associates, which includes replacement of a sewer main, sewer manhole, installation and replacement of a catch basin and installation of a trench, re-grading and brickwork of the bumpout, and installation of an ADA curb ramp at the intersections of Westminster, Mill and Bridge Streets in Bellows Falls, VT.
