Voting at Town Meeting and Village Corporation Annual Meeting's
If you are new to Vermont, you’ll want to know about our traditional Town Meeting, held annually on the last Saturday before the first Tuesday in March (voting day). All residents of the Town of Rockingham are encouraged to participate in the annual meeting and to vote in the Town election the subsequent Tuesday at the Masonic Temple. In Rockingham, residents vote by Australian Ballot on Tuesday for Select Board members. Town Reports are distributed at least ten days before Town Meeting at several locations including Town Hall and the Rockingham Library. The Report includes the proposed budget, highlights on the year from the elected boards, the Municipal Manager, the Town Departments, and the Social Service agencies supported by the Town budget.
The Bellows Falls Village Corporation Trustees and the Saxtons River Village Trustees hold Annual Meetings in the Spring (separate from Town Meeting). All residents of each Village are encouraged to participate and vote in the Town election, Bellows Falls in May and Saxtons River in April.
